2007-2008 REFEREE CALENDAR
Referee Instruction Clinic
This clinic will prepare new
United States Soccer Federation Recreational Referees (Grade 9)This
clinic is full.
No additional registrations can be accepted.

Times for clinic: 8:30 am – 6:30 pm
Location of the Clinic:
10400 Hampton Pkwy, Columbia, SC 29223
This building is located on the Ft. Jackson Army Facility.
Directions to the clinic building: (do not use MAPQUEST)
Enter the Main Gate from Forest Drive (Exit #12 from Interstate 77).
Stay to the right to go through the gate’s vehicle inspection process.
You must present your driver license, vehicle registration, and proof of
insurance at this gate.
All adults must have a proper identification card.
After clearing entrance inspection, proceed straight through the first traffic
light at Magruder Ave.
Proceed straight through the second traffic light at Jackson Blvd.
Proceed straight through the third traffic light at Marion Ave.
Turn left at the fourth traffic light onto Lee Rd.
Travel seven-tenths of a mile to the STOP sign at Hampton Pkwy.
Turn left onto Hampton Pkwy.
Proceed seven-tenths of a mile down Hampton Pkwy and look right.
There is a sign in front of the building in which the clinic will be held.
The sign says “Headquarters Training Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment”.
The address on the building will be 10400.
No missed time for the class will be allowed. You must
commit to the full time in class.
We reserve the right to exclude anyone who arrives late for the start of this
clinic.
Parking, Lunch: Parking is free. Lunch is available at nearby restaurants, or bring your own.
Fees: The fees will be $45 total. Cash will not be accepted. Make checks payable to “SC Referees.” Bring your check to the first date of the class. The fee does not include the uniform or equipment.
Course: The course will be taught using a US-Soccer PowerPoint presentation. The objective is to teach an understanding of the Laws of the Game and referee procedures so that every student will be prepared to referee their first games. Registration as a Referee is contingent on passing a written test at the end of the course.

three days prior to the clinic date.
No one will be accepted who has not Pre-Registered.

Handouts may include a copy of “The Laws of the Game” and “The Guide to Procedures for Referees, Assistant Referees and Fourth Officials”. These may be accessed prior to the class from the web site www.ussoccer.com under Referees and then Laws of the Game.
Bring to Class: Bring a suitable notebook and a pen and/or pencil for notes. A good pencil with an eraser will be best for the test.

Print the form on standard 8.5” x 11” paper.
Please use only black ink when filling out the form.
Complete Step 1 on the form by filling in your USSF ID Number, (if you have one), Last Name, First Name, Middle Initial, Address, City, State, ZIP Code, Email Address, Telephone Numbers, Gender (M or F), Date of Birth, Country of Birth, and Country of Citizenship. Leave the other blanks in Step 1 empty for now.
Skip Step 2 and Step 3 on the form for now.
Complete Step 4 only if you wish to contribute to the US Soccer Foundation.
Complete Step 5 on the form in black ink, noting YES or NO to the question, sign and date the form.
Bring this completed form to the Referee Clinic in addition to registering online.

Referees over the age of eighteen seeking to officiate South Carolina Youth Soccer Association (SCYSA) matches should also print the following Risk Management Volunteer Disclosure form, complete the form, sign the form, and bring it to the clinic.

Be aware that it is the intent of SCYSA to deny certification to those persons who do not meet the requirements set forth in the SCYSA RISK MANAGEMENT GUIDELINES.
