2007-2008 REFEREE CALENDAR

Referee Instruction Clinic


You must be a Registered USSF Referee to attend this clinic.
This will be the last re-cert opportunity for the Spring season.



Dates and Times:
March 1, 2008   1 PM - 6 PM
No missed time for the class will be allowed. You must commit to the full time in class.
Do not be late for the start of this clinic - the doors will be closed to late entrants.

Location:  Columbia College - Cottingham Theater

DIRECTIONS TO COLUMBIA COLLEGE
Cottingham Theatre

From I-77 or  I-20 Westbound:
Take I-20 West and Exit #70 (321/Fairfield Road)
Turn South (right) onto 321 and go one mile…stay in the right lane.
After one mile, 321 splits at US 21 (N. Main Street)
Take a right on US 21 and at the first light, turn left on Columbia College Drive.
Cottingham Theatre is immediately on your left after turning on Columbia College Drive.
 

From I-26 or I-20 Eastbound:
Take I-20 East towards Florence.
After approximately 3 miles, take Exit 70 (Fairfield Road).
Turn South (left) onto 321 and go one mile…stay in the right lane.
After one mile, 321 splits at US 21 (N. Main Street)
Take a right on US 21 and at the first light, turn left on Columbia College Drive.
Cottingham Theatre is immediately on your left after turning on Columbia College Drive.

Parking, Lunch:  Parking is free.  Lunch is available at nearby restaurants prior to the clinic.

Fees:
$40 for Grade 9
$45 for Grade 8
$50 for Grade 7
$60 for Grade 5/6

Additional fees may be collected for local associations.

Checks should be payable to “SC Referees". 
Cash will not be accepted. 
Fees do not include uniforms or equipment. 

Course:  Eligible USSF Referees who attend all hours of this clinic, take and pass the written exam, complete the on-line registration, complete and sign the USSF Registration paper form and pay the registration fees will meet the requirements for re-certification for 2008.

Grade 5, 6 and 7 referees must also pass the physical fitness test. The physical fitness test will NOT be given at this meeting. Referee grades 5 and 6 must also complete the annual assessment requirements.

Handouts may include a copy of “The Laws of the Game” and “The Guide to Procedures for Referees, Assistant Referees and Fourth Officials”.  These may be accessed prior to the class from the web site www.ussoccer.com under Referees and then Laws of the Game.

Bring to Class:  Bring a suitable notebook and a pen and/or pencil for notes.  A good pencil with an eraser will be best for the test.

Locate the Referee Registration Form by clicking on this link.

Print the form on standard 8.5” x 11” paper.
Please use only black ink when filling out the form.

Complete Step 1 on the form by filling in your USSF ID Number, (if you have one), Last Name, First Name, Middle Initial, Address, City, State, ZIP Code, Email Address, Telephone Numbers, Gender (M or F), Date of Birth, Country of Birth, and Country of Citizenship. Leave the other blanks in Step 1 empty for now.

Skip Step 2 and Step 3 on the form for now.

Complete Step 4 only if you wish to contribute to the US Soccer Foundation.

Complete Step 5 on the form in black ink, noting YES or NO to the question, sign and date the form.

Bring this completed form to the Referee Clinic in addition to registering online.

Referees over the age of eighteen seeking to officiate South Carolina Youth Soccer Association (SCYSA) matches should also print the following Risk Management Volunteer Disclosure form, complete the form, sign the form, and bring it to the clinic.

Be aware that it is the intent of SCYSA to deny certification to those persons who do not meet the requirements set forth in the SCYSA RISK MANAGEMENT GUIDELINES.
