Yes, all USSF Referees must attend a Re-Certification Clinic each year, and must take the appropriate written test for their Grade.

year?
A Grade 9 Referee may attend a Re-Certification Clinic and pass the Grade 9 written test at that clinic. A Grade 9 Referee may also attend a Bridge Clinic and pass the Grade 9 written test to meet the re-certification requirements to remain a Grade 9.

What is the best time to Re-Certify for next year?
Each year, we offer our best opportunity to Re-Certify in August. We have a state-wide Re-Certification and education session in Columbia. If you can make it to this clinic you will be able to meet and learn from all the best instructors in the State. In addition, we generally offer some door prizes and a small discount on the registration fees to attendees.

You may attend a Bridge Course to upgrade from Grade 9 to Grade 8, if you have met all re-certification requirements as a Grade 9 for the previous year. Note that you may not attend a Grade 9 Clinic and a Bridge Course in the same season. You may also attend a full Grade 8 clinic to become a Grade 8 Referee, if you meet the requirements for that grade.

Pre-registration is a requirement for attendance at all of our Referee Clinics. All of the forms on our web site are secured and encrypted using Turbo Secured Socket Layers with 256 bit encryption. Entering all of your contact information is desirable in order to avoid having someone else re-type all of that information (and possibly making a mistake), but you may fulfill the Pre-registration requirement by simply entering your name in the appropriate field and “submitting” the form. Should you elect to pre-register with just your name, there will be an additional $10.00 fee to register you with USSF, should you meet all other requirements of the clinic.
I lost my USSF Badge. How can I get another one?
On our web site at www.scref.org, we have a link to US Soccer. You may enter the US Soccer web site and order additional badges for your use.
