South Carolina Robotics Education Foundation FIRST Tech Challenge


Scrimmages



Teams compete in informal meets or scrimmages during the season to test their designs and get experience. Any team can organize a scrimmage if they desire.

The 2015/2016 FIRST Tech Challenge Season is starting up. We are working on plans to hold scrimmages in various locations around South Carolina. Make sure to check here or the FIRST web site for future events.

State Championship



The FIRST Tech Challenge South Carolina State Robotics Championship for the 2015/2016 season was held on Satuday, 30 January 2016 at the Gaffney High School, 149 Twin Lake Road, Gaffney, SC 29341. We had 19 of the 21 teams eligible to attend compete this year. The top six teams qualifying to advance to the South Super-Regional (but only three can compete) included:

The FIRST Challenge South Carolina State Robotics Championship for the 2014/2015 season was held at Gaffney High School on 31 January 2015. There were 20 of the 25 eligible teams competing. The top six teams qualifying to advance to the South Super-Regional (but only three can compete) included:

KC Robotics from Cassatt was unable to attend the the South Super-Regional, so Chabotics from Aiken will then advance as the third team from South Carolina. The means that two teams from North Aiken High School will represent South Carolina as well as the Championship team of "Caveman with Rock" from the Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (a novice team!)!!!

Super-Regional



The South Super-Regional is currently held in San Antonio, Texas. This year the South Super-Regional will be held 9-11 March 2016. The venue is the Henry B. Gonzalez Center in the center of San Antonio. If you are interested in other Super-Regional events you can check them all out here.

World Championship



Is held annually in the latter part of April in St. Louis, Missouri. This next Spring the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship is scheduled for 27-30 April 2016 and is being held in the St. Louis Union Station.
